I had used Leica laser measuring devices for a long time. My last one was an A8, which is a fabulous product. The new D8 is even better in all respects. From camera resolution (and color!), which really helps locate your target, to size, weight and ruggedness. I never had a problem with the A8 (I took good care of it) but this one seems like it will last a lifetime. I don’t use the Bluetoooth feature, but it is definitely a plus for someone who translate his measurement to a CAD program. I recommend the Leica Disto D8 laser measuring device without hesitation.

Unbelievable accuracy. Need tripod to use many functions and Leica brand is very nice. USB connectivity works very well, to include a variety of programs. Only bad thing is display is extremely hard to see in daylight because of the glossy screen. Even shading with hand only marginally helps. Needs some type hood?
